Who: Local businesses, organizations or individuals who value the importance of education can have a significant impact by contributing to this very valuable program.

What: NIE promotes the use of the newspapers in area classrooms. The Wichita Eagle is a "living textbook" that features current, real-world information. A strong readership program encourages students to think and analyze the world around them, become newspaper readers as they grow older, and develop into committed, contributing citizens.

Where: The Wichita Eagle's Newspaper in Education is available to private and public schools, community colleges, adult high school programs, home schools, alternative centers and correctional facilities. Our programs are tailored for all ages and encompass all curriculums.

When: Newspapers are available to all classrooms any day of the week.

Why: Newspapers are integral in the world of education. The newspaper is the up to date textbook that is needed in classrooms when resource budgets are being slashed and educators need contemporary thinking to enhance their lesson plans.

Sponsorship Levels

Byline:

$250.00 -- Sponsorship of 8 papers in the classroom, Monday through Friday throughout the school year.

Dateline:

$150.00 -- Sponsorship of 8 papers in the classroom, Monday through Friday for 1 semester

OR

Sponsorship of 4 papers in the classroom, Monday through Friday for 2 semesters.

Corporate sponsorship

Your company or organization can help fund programs that consist of a set of newspapers/student guides and a teacher’s guide. These programs have been tied to individual company initiatives such as health, recycling, reading or other pertinent world events that may appeal to your company's goals while providing valuable classroom learning tools.

The partnership donation levels are:

  • Publisher's Choice $5,000 and above
  • Headline Publishers: $3,000 -$4,999
  • Editorial Partners: $2,000-$2,999
  • Lead Partners: $1,000-$1,999
